Update from our doctor's appointment

We met with the doctor today for a check up and to go over our ultrasound results. All things seemed good to go on the ultrasound report. The baby is head down (which was a surprise to me as I feel like it is River Dancing on my bladder some days) and size-wise is in the 50 percentile...not too big and not too small. All of the organs, arms, legs appeared to be A-Ok. 

The only thing they did note is that I have a low-lying placenta which means if it doesn't move by the time I'm due they would have to do a c-section to prevent excessive bleeding. From what I've been reading, most plaentas move as the pregnancy progresses. I will have another ultrasound at 36 weeks to check the positioning. Basically I just need to take it easy and don't do anything to strenuous (darn) and hopefully it will move.

Other than that, the heart rate was 156 and the baby has been kicking like crazy! 

I have my next appointment in 4 weeks and then I start going every 2 weeks. 

After our doctor's appointment Jay and I went registering and it was a ton of fun...a little hard when you don't know the sex but still a lot of fun:)

25 and 26 Weeks

Here I am at 25 weeks and at 26 weeks...we have our next doctor's appointment tomorrow and so I will update after that. 

Florida was a fabulous time and I'll post pictures of that soon as well.

25 weeks

26 weeks...I appear smaller than in the 25 week picture...it totally depends on the outfit....I guess whoever said black is slimming was correct:)

24 Weeks

I know, I know... I'm a little behind in putting these up and many of you have been asking for them. I'll try to post them more immediately from now on. Here I am at 24 weeks. I'm feeling good and the baby is kicking more. 

I leave for Orlando tomorrow for work and then Jay is coming down Wednesday to join me and have a little vacation...probably our last before the baby:) Disneyworld here we come!

23 Weeks and eating like a horse

Well I know everyone has told me I ate like a horse before but now I really do feel like a horse.  In the past week or so, I've found myself so hungry that I will resort to eating anything I can find. In addition to my increased appetite, I've also found myself craving the oddest, non-food things. 

Here is a list I've been meaning to start of all the random crap I've been doing/thinking/eating since getting pregnant. I'm sure this list will grow. 

1) I ate an entire box of mac n cheese by myself in one sitting

2) I saw a bookmobile bus and it made me crave slushies

3) I enjoyed the smell of cigarette smoke (which I normally despise)

4) I realized my physical ability has been drastically reduced and I almost died walking up the Lee Boulevard Hill

5) I 'craved' a ride on a dirt bike (never even been on one)

6) I wake up 3 times a night laying on my stomach thinking to myself I am crushing my baby

7) I realized that giving a pregnant woman caffeine after she hasn't drank it for over 6 months is like giving someone crack....oh how I long for it

8) Lastly, I've received what I'm pretty sure is a cat outfit for a baby gift 

I could also create an 'un-edited' version of this list but will save that as I'm assuming the general public doesn't want to hear of these things. 

Ok back to the baby....the baby is now 11 inches long and the size of a mango. 

On a very exciting note, the kicks are getting so much stronger that you can actually see them if you watch my belly. It has become a nightly activity for Jay and I to watch my belly.

22 Weeks - The start of six months!

Here I am at the start of 6 months...very weird to me that I'm even that far. 

Only 4 months until this baby is here!

Kicks are getting stronger and Jay was actually able to detect 3 kicks by himself last night without me saying 'did you feel that one??'. 

My book says the baby is the size of a noodle squash (yeah I don't know what that looks like either) and is nearing a pound. Have a great weekend!
