The days are dwindling down...

So, so sad....I go back to work this coming Monday:( I am totally not ready to go back. We had daycare orientation last Thursday and got the tour. When I saw a baby crying in Kate's room I almost started to cry. I realize babies cry but it just made me all the more sad to be leaving her.

This week I'm trying to spend as much time with her as possible and have been holding her and taking naps with her as I know I won't be able to do it much longer.

I know the majority of women go back to work after having a baby but I just wish I didn't have to. Motherhood has been awesome so far and I just love spending time with her as she is becoming oodles of fun and I just can't get enough of her!

Well I better get going as we are in the midst of putting up our christmas tree and before I start to cry at the thought of going back to work....I'm going to be a blubbering mess on Monday.....ugh.

2 months old!

Our little peanut is 2 months old already...well 10 weeks to be exact. She is getting so big. Smiling a ton and getting chubbier and longer. This past week we had her 2 month checkup. Here are her stats from her 2 month checkup. I've also listed her 2 week checkup stats and birth stats for reference on her growth:)

2 month checkup:
Weight: 11 lb. 7 oz. (68th percentile)
Length: 22 1/4" (47th percentile)
Head: 15" (34th percentile)

2 week checkup:
Weight: 7 lbs. 10 oz. (25th percentile)
Length: 19.5 inches (25th percentile)
Head size: I can't remember the exact measurement but it fell in the 25th percentile

Birth:
Weight: 6 lbs. 13 oz.
Length: 20 inches

She also received 3 shots. It was AWFUL! I've never heard her scream like that before and I was crying as well. Very traumatic. I just felt so bad:( But she slept the rest of the day and seemed to recover quite well.

Other than that, she is sleeping pretty well....anywhere from 4-9 hours. It seems to be every other night when she'll sleep through.

I go back to work in 2 weeks and I'm not really excited to leave her but it will be good to have a routine again.

Here are a few pictures of our little bird from last week:

Craving Christmas

I have been craving christmas like you wouldn't believe. I've been fighting the urge to put up my tree for over a week now! This morning when I woke up and saw the snow I felt like a kid on Christmas morning all giddy.

I have already borrowed Home Alone from Emily and plan on watching that today. I have Christmas Vacation too but I think I"ll save that one for after thanksgiving. Give me something to look forward to:)

Its going to be so much fun this year having Kate for Christmas. I know she won't understand much of what's going on but I know she'll love staring at the tree because she's always staring at lights!

Ok I must go now but just had to blog my recent obsession:)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Rock the Vote

Today Kate, my mom and I all went to vote together. The people at the polling place were in love with Kate and she even got an 'I voted' sticker.
All I can say is I'm glad its all over with and we don't have to see any more ads on tv....when you spend the majority of your day at home, with the tv on, it becomes a bit much!

My little wide eyed bird

Cutest voter out there

Its a nail biter...who will win?!?!?

A little blurry....but look who's back....its the 'van down by the river face'!

'Boots with the fur....'

Aunt Emily bought Kate these uber adorable 'uggs' the other day...she looked pretty darn cute in them however she didn't quite know what to think of them. We had  a little photo shoot and still haven't stopped singing 'shorty had them apple bottom jeans...boots with the fur....the whole club was lookin' at heeeeerrrrrr....she it the floor....next thing you know...shorty got low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low'

Stylin'

We'll just say she was singing along

Kate's 1st Halloween

Originally Kate was going to boycott dressing up as we could not find a costume small enough to fit her. The ones we could find were ridiculously expensive which just seemed kind of silly since she would only be wearing it for a couple hours.
We then toyed with the idea of using a dog costume as they were the only things we could find that were small enough and weren't going to cost us an arm and a leg. Had we gone this route she would have been a hotdog....however..... On one random shopping trip to Von Maur we found a ladybug costume and it was only $6!! What a steal! It was a little big but she still looked pretty darn cute!

So tuckered out and it was the beginning of the night...
